Creating and inviting tenants to Reposit
Updated this week

How do I create a new Reposit for a property?

  1. To create a new Reposit, log into your Reposit dashboard and click on Create a Reposit.

  2. If the property address has had a previous Reposit registered to it, use the search bar to find the address.

  3. If not, click Add New Property and then Add New Address.

  4. Use the search bar to locate the property using its postcode and select it from the list.

  5. Click Use This Address to complete the draft and enter any further defining details about the property.

How do I input the landlord's information?

Accurately enter the landlord's information (full name and email address) as any errors could impact your cover at the end of the tenancy. Reposit will not contact the landlord unless instructed to do so or if it's a let-only property. Ensure the details are accurate and verifiable in case the landlord gets in touch for further information.

What do I need to do for tenancy details?

  1. For new tenancies, click New.

  2. For existing tenancies switching (Switch) to Reposit from a deposit, choose Existing.

  3. Enter the rent per month (RPM).

  4. Select whether the tenancy is fully managed or let only.

  5. Enter the start and end dates of the tenancy.

  6. The Reposit fee will be calculated based on the monthly rent, so ensure this figure is correct, otherwise the tenant could be paying the wrong amount as their Reposit fee, and your cover may be affected come the end of tenancy.

  7. Click Confirm.

How is the Reposit fee calculated?

The Reposit fee is equal to one week’s worth of rent, subject to a minimum of £150. This fee will be split equally among the tenants named on the Reposit.

How do I add tenants and guarantors?

Add all named tenants from the tenancy agreement by including their first and last names and email addresses.

If a guarantor is required, enter their details and ensure any guarantor is aware of their responsibilities upfront.

What should I confirm before creating a Reposit?

  • Confirm that you have offered Reposit to tenants as a choice alongside a traditional deposit.

  • Provided a detailed explanation of the product, and ensure tenants are aware that they remain liable for any end-of-tenancy charges.

  • Confirm that comprehensive reference checks on all tenants have been conducted and that you may need to provide these at the end of the tenancy. Failing to do so will invalidate the Reposit cover.

What happens after I create a Reposit?

  1. Review all the information and click Create Reposit.

  2. Check that all the entered information is correct before proceeding.

  3. An email invitation will be sent to the tenant to complete the sign-up before check-in.

It is important to ensure that the Reposit is fully paid prior to providing tenants access to the property.
