Reposit Annual Fees

The Reposit Annual Fee is a £30 fee charged once every 12 months for each tenancy that continues beyond its first year.

The Annual Fee is part of the cost of continuing to use the Reposit service. It is payable on each anniversary of the tenancy start date and remains payable for as long as the tenancy is active. This is separate from the initial Reposit fee paid when the Reposit was first taken out.

The whole fee is applicable regardless of how long you remain in the property after the 12-month anniversary date.

How You’ll Be Notified About Your Annual Fee

We’ll send you two email reminders about your Annual Fee:

1. One week before the fee is due

You’ll receive an email making you aware the fee is due soon.

This is simply an advance reminder that your £30 Annual Fee will be due in one week. No payment is taken at this stage. The email also gives you the option to let your letting agent or landlord know if you have already moved out or are planning to move out before your anniversary date.

2. On the date the fee is due

You’ll then receive a further email confirming that your Annual Fee is now due. This email will provide a link or button allowing you to make the payment through your Reposit dashboard.

If you have already moved out, you should use the option provided in the email to let your letting agent or landlord know. This allows them to update your tenancy details and stop the annual fee where appropriate.

Joint tenancies

The annual fee is charged at £30 per tenancy, not £30 per tenant.

Where there is more than one tenant on a tenancy, the £30 annual fee is split equally among all tenants named on the Reposit. So if there are two tenants, each pays £15; three tenants, £10 each, and so on.

Each tenant must pay their own fee, the fee cannot be combined and paid by one tenant.

If you're unsure how the split has been applied to your account, you can check your Reposit dashboard or email hello@reposit.co.uk.

Annual Fee Timing

The Reposit Annual Fee is due on each anniversary of the tenancy start date if the tenancy remains active for 12 months or longer.

The fee is not calculated based on how long remains on the tenancy after the anniversary date. Therefore, even if your tenancy is due to end shortly after the Annual Fee becomes due—for example, two months later—the full £30 Annual Fee remains payable.

As the fee becomes due on the anniversary of the tenancy start date, we do not offer refunds or pro-rata refunds if the tenancy subsequently ends during that year.

This is because the Annual Fee is an annual fee for the Reposit service and is not charged on a monthly or daily basis.

Outstanding Annual Fees

Each Annual Fee is due on its scheduled anniversary date. If an Annual Fee is not paid when it becomes due, it remains outstanding until it is paid.

If your tenancy continues into another year, paying the previous year’s outstanding fee does not cover or delay the Annual Fee for the new year. The new Annual Fee will still become due on its normal anniversary date.

For example, if your 2024 Annual Fee was due on 28 June 2024 but was not paid until January 2025, the 2024 fee remains a separate outstanding payment. The Annual Fee for 2025 will still become due on 28 June 2025.

  • Payment due 28/06/2024 of £30 paid January 2025

  • Payment still due 28/06/2025 of £30

Should a previous Annual Fee remain unpaid when the next one becomes due, both fees will be outstanding and will need to be paid. The previous year’s fee does not replace, defer, or count towards the following year’s fee.

  • Payment due 28/06/2024 of £30 unpaid

  • Payment due 28/06/2025 of £30 plus £30 of 2024 = £60

Annual Fees - Charged after moving out

If you’ve moved out of your property and notice an Annual Fee on your Reposit account, don’t worry. There are a few things you can check.

Why might this happen?

Your Annual Fee is due on each anniversary of your tenancy start date while your tenancy remains active. Your landlord or letting agent is responsible for updating your Reposit account when your tenancy ends.

If your move-out has not yet been recorded in the Reposit system, your tenancy may still appear as active and the Annual Fee may become due.

What should you do?

1. Check your move-out date
Make sure your landlord or letting agent has checked out your Reposit. You will have received an email about your Reposit ending if this action has been taken.

2. Speak to your landlord or letting agent
If your tenancy has ended but your Reposit account has not been checked out, your landlord or letting agent may need to update the tenancy status. We recommend reaching out to them to ensure this action is taken

3. Provide evidence
If you believe your Reposit should have ended before the Annual Fee became due, send us evidence of your move-out date, such as:

  • Email confirmation from your landlord or letting agent of your move out date; or

  • Your tenancy check-out report

4. Contact Reposit
Send the relevant information by email to hello@reposit.co.uk or use our contact form and we’ll review your account and the information provided.

We’ll review the information you provide and let you know the outcome once we’ve assessed your account.
